Sebastian Montesi has been boxing at Contenders since 2005. In 2010, Kevin Reynolds and Richard Pelcz invited him to become an instructor and personal trainer at Contenders. Boxing highlights:

Andrew Lynn

Squash Director/Trainer

Andrew is a chartered professional squash coach and comes in with 30+ years of experience. Andrew's career consists of winning nationals in 2022, being the Canadian Squash Team national coach in the 2009 World University Squash Championships and in 2008 he was the national coach for Canada in the Pan Am Games. He is also a former top 100 ranked squash player worldwide. When not honing his squash skills he can be found golfing and hiking.

Andrew Mount

Squash Trainer

Andrew's coaching experience comes from the collegiate level in Canada and the US, alongside junior and adult development in clubs and team-based coaching at the international level. A Certified Club Coach, Andrew's coaching philosophy is to maximize performance with minimal disruption. He enjoys developing each player's unique style and risk tolerance; leveraging their strengths to find their optimum performance. Areas of Expertise: Building Pressure, Attention specificity, and Play-making.

He is available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings.

Brano Zadubenec

Trainer/Osteopath Therapist

Brano is passionate about helping people improve a quality of life through a holistic approach and understand the importance of an active lifestyle in our society. Brano obtained a bachelor’s degree of Sport Science in Slovakia and moved to Canada to further pursue the continuing education. Brano has an extensive knowledge in personal training as well as treating musculoskeletal conditions such as OA, OP, chronic pain management etc. In 2018, Brano graduated from the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto and became a Registered Manual Osteopath. Brano currently works as a Personal Trainer as well as Registered Manual Osteopath. Continuing his education, Brano recently finished the disability management certificate at the University of Fredericton. Furthermore, Brano uses the Neurokinetic Therapy approach treating a various injuries, strains, sprains, and a compensation movement patterns etc. through reprogramming all movements patterns in the motor control centre in the cerebellum.


Catherine King


Catherine is a practicing Kinesiologist with a Master of Science degree in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Edinburgh, and a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from UBC. She is double certified with the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and a Certified Personal Trainer; working with both athletes and general population of all levels, abilities and capacities. In both 2024 and 2020, Impact magazine named Catherine as one of the Top Fitness Trainers in Canada. Having worked in the fitness industry since 2003, she recognizes that health and fitness are a lifelong pursuit.

Karen Milligan

Bodyworker in Massage (Relaxation & Deep Tissue)

Karen is a certified professional bodyworker and over 4 years has worked in various settings including wellness shows, professional Spas in table massage & chair massage on contract. She is passionate about being of service to others in the promotion of health & wellness. Her style is relaxation, Swedish, with optional deep tissue pressure points to ease your day, leaving you feeling renewed & relaxed. Alongside working at the YWCA the past 3yrs, she is active in tennis, biking, beach volleyball and has a background in kickboxing, yoga, & pilates. She also enjoys long walks and photography. In having a fitness background, & with courses, she naturally felt massage was the right complimentary path & so rewarding in mind, body, & soul to herself and others. Look forward to seeing you!
